Christmas is cool

Hi. I’m back from my grandma’s house. I did not like the car ride or being stuck in my pen all the time, but I got lots of attention (including lots of forehead rubs) from my mama, my grandma, and my uncle, and I got extra treats every day. Plus, I got some new toys. If it weren’t for the really long car ride, I’d be ready to go back. I really got spoiled there. My grandma even bought me my very own mint plant.

I tried to stay awake so I could meet Santa Paws, but I fell asleep. Maybe next time. He did not bring my Mama a lump of coal for bringing me to the vet. She got a bunch of presents. I even got her a present – a book about animals. Wasn’t that nice of me? She gave me a really cool puzzle with my name on it. It’s fun to chew on and throw. I also got a new ball to replace the one I ate, a stuffed apple to toss around, some wood to chew, and some treats. Not a bad haul. Check it out:

I’m sad that Christmas only comes once a year, though.

Bah, humbug

How do I get ahold of Santa Paws to tell him to put my Mama on the "naughty" list so she gets a lump of coal? She brought me to the vet today! I got held down while the mean vet cut my nails then pried open my mouth to look at my teeth. I hope the vet gets coal in her Christmas stocking, too. I think I should get their presents too, because I endured the torture and did not bite or scratch either of them.

Mama said that she was sorry, but it had to be done. That's a big load of bunny poo. I was just fine without going to that place. I'll be giving my Mama the cold shoulder tonight.

Holiday time

Sorry I haven’t updated. My Mama had something called “Finals” and has been very busy and using her computer all the time.

Christmas is getting closer. Here’s a picture of our tree:

And here’s my favorite thing on the tree:

bunny

I’d bet I’d look cute napping in a Santa hat.

Lots of fluffy white stuff fell from the sky last weekend. It’s called snow. My Mama brought some inside, and I ate it. It didn’t really taste like anything, but it was different, so I ate a bunch of it. I even dug in it a little.

Mama was wrapping presents earlier. I wonder if any of them are for me. And speaking of presents, should I get my Mama a present?

November

The last few weeks have been quiet. Since I last updated, I saw my Grandma again (and had fun jumping on her and untying her shoes), and my winter coat has come in.

Thanksgiving has come and gone. I’m not quite sure what it was all about, but my Mama said she was very thankful for me and then gave me an extra treat. So, I think I like Thanksgiving. And since I guess we’re supposed to say what we’re thankful for, I’m thankful for my Mama, my home, and my toys.

Now, something called Christmas is coming. From what I gather, it involves food and toys. I can’t wait!

Strangers and Friends

I didn't realize it'd been so long since I updated. Since my last post, I have forgiven my Mama for bringing me to the vet. And I have forgiven her for letting 2 strangers into the house. She said they were my aunt and uncle, whatever those are. I kept my distance, although they both gave me treats, so I guess they can't be all bad. They even knew how much I love banana.

I've spent some time hanging out with my pals:

I love my friends, so I gave them a kiss.

I also nuzzled Mama's nose with mine, because I love her, too.

Well, I guess that's all that's new here. There's something called Halloween coming up. I'll have to let you know what that is...

Tuesday, October 2, 2007

Well, last weekend is over, thankfully. My Mama took me to the vet to get my nails trimmed. I HATE going to the vet. Then the rest of the weekend, Mama was being all nice to me. Well, I wasn't having any of it and hopped away and hid out under the couch. If she really wanted to be nice to me, she wouldn't have tricked me with a peach to get me into my carrier then taken me to that chamber of horrors. So, you think a few minutes of petting and brushing can make up for that? Whatever, lady. Talk to the tail.

Training humans

Well, I think I've done a pretty good job training my Mama, and it's hardly taken any time at all. If I lay on the floor and look at her, she'll get down on the floor with me and pet and brush me. I love that. And if I do a really big yawn when it's dark outside, she'll say it's bedtime. And bedtime means I get a treat! I actually got two treats today. She was eating an apple, and I kept looking at her with my big brown eyes and putting my paws up on her knee, and before long, she caved and gave me a piece. It was yummy. Training her was way easier than I ever thought it would be.

Friends and fall Saturdays

Here are two of my best friends:

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

The bear is Fritz, and the lamb is Shaun. They're great pals. Sometimes Shaun and I eat hay together, and Fritz gives really good forehead rubs. And sometimes they even let me out of my cage while my Mama's at work. (Ssh! Don't tell my Mama that, ok? It'll be our little secret.)

Fritz was very sad for a couple of weeks recently. My mama turned on the tv one Saturday, and there were a bunch of huge people with funny helmets on the screen. After a bit, Mama said a bunch of really bad words and turned off the tv. Fritz pulled his sweatshirt hood up over his head, and I think I saw a couple of polar bear tears. But then Saturday before last, Mama put on a shirt like the people with the helmets on tv had and went to a game, and when she came back later that day, she was happy and Fritz put his hood back down and was happy, too. Do you think that maybe my Mama played with those huge people and that's what made them better?

Here's the last installment of my latest journal:

Sunday
September 2, 2007

It's me, Dylan. I've got to tell you this. I woke up several times in the night when I kept hearing this rumbling noise. Was it thunder, a volcanic eruption, an earthquake? Then I remembered, my Grammy's here and it was her snoring! Once I realized what it was, it actually lulled me back into slumber.

Grammy and that lady were gone part of the day, so I just chilled out in my cage - and rearranged my pile of hay.

When they got back, that lady let me into my playpen, so I instantly gophered all over the place.

Then I got my greens and FREEDOM! I messed around under the couch for a while. Then I sat down by the bookshelf next to the slider. I've found if I lay there, I can keep my eyes on both of them. Geez, Mama, keeping track of those to have been a full time job.

I spent a lot of time in the closet tonight. Finally, I dug off a piece of cardboard and ran around with it in my mouth.

When you're back, Mama, we'll have a talk about that lamp cord I can hear Grammy telling you about - the snitch!

I'm eating lots of hay tonight - so I'll still have that round bunny tummy you love - when you get back tomorrow. I've missed you, Mama. I'll be so excited to see you have have you tuck me in tomorrow night.

Well, I zoomed around the living room 4 times in a row tonight - so I'm pooped. But not to pooped to eat my peach! YUM!

Sweet dreams, Mama
I love you

Monday

Boy, was I starving this morning. I just inhaled my bowl of pellets. When that lady reached in to put my bowl down, she noticed I had just about devoured every morsel of hay she'd put in there yesterday. But I tell you, Mama, it takes a lot of food to keep me in this sleek, svelte form.

Actually, I've been happy humming all morning, because my Mama's comin' home today!

It was OK to have these other two here for awhile. But I can only handle it in small doses. They sort of inhibited my spurts of bunny creativity. You know what I mean?

I can't wait to stay up and play with you all night tonight, Mama! I know you've missed me and want to pet me and feed me and just, in general, remember how cool I am.

I'm going to snooze and bunny nap all day - so I'll be charged and ready to roll when you let me out.

You're the BEST Mama in the world!

Bunny nuzzles and kisses,
Your little furball, Dylan

Mornin' Mama,
Whatcha doin' this morning, Mama?

Pellets given to me. Pellets eaten by me. I think it makes that lady feel good when I eat what she gives me. But you and I know, Mama that you're the one who grows my pellets.

Guess what? My Grammy is coming today. I haven't decided yet if I'll be friendly or should play hard to get. Heh heh - this is going to be fun!

Ok - she got here. That lady told me my Grammy was here and she went out to let her in. I was semi asleep inside my cage. When they came in the apartment, I'd gone undercover. I mean that. I had slipped under my blue blanket and sat there real still - because I knew they couldn't see me since I couldn't see them. But that lady blew my cover, so I had to pop out and say hiya to Grammy, even though I felt a little shy.

Later, that lady gave me my bowl of greens and gave me the run of the house. I didn't eat my greens right away. I was testing Grammy to see if she'd be my food bowl competition, but she wasn't. So after I ran and explored awhile, I polished off my bowl.

I even let Grammy brush me on the couch - ha ha - she'd forgotten she'd just cleaned the bunny fur off the couch. Anyway, I only let her have a few swipes with the brush. I didn't want her to get any ideas about ribbons or pink bows in my fur - so I took off.

So, I had this plan. Let the two of them start talking to each other, and little ol' Dylan can do what he wants. I did get in two good chomps of the woodwork by the bathroom door. But in my exuberance to chew, I guess I was a little loud, cause that lady was down the hall in a flash. Surprised the hell (er, heck) out of me, because I took it for granted she couldn't move that fast. Well, now I know.

The rest of the night went OK. I let them both pet me, because I was trying to be a good host.

Before I knew it, that lady had gone into the kitchen and ooh-la-la, Mama, it was time for your little honey bunny to have his bedtime snack. Peaches are a bunny's best friend.

Night, Mama,
I love you

Friday
August 31, 2007

Hi Mama,
Got my pellets right on time this morning - actually, any time I get them is right on time. They were soooo good. You sure know how to make good pellets, Mama. Then I sacked out in my cage while that lady went out for a walk.

When she let me into my playpen at 11 am, I was really frisky. I just ran and ran. Thought maybe she'd see how much running I was doing and give me the whole place, but it didn't work. So I occupied some time, yup, you guessed it, by digging!

I let that lady pet me quite a bit while I was in my playpen. Thought maybe that would get me an early pass, but that didn't work either. So I settled - kerplunk - down for a bunny nap in my cave under the chair.

Well that didn't last long and soon I was up gophering around. Then it's been back to digging. I think I'm almost there - wherever it is I'm digging to. Just a few more days...

Supper's done. I just am so thrilled to se food, I just crunch, Crunch, CRUNCH. Then it's out and about I go.

Heh heh - want to hear something funny? I did a zippity do dah run from the bathroom door to the front door. That lady was reading. She thought I was in the front closet, so she goes in there and looks all over for me. Meanwhile I'm lying under the desk chair watching her. I tell you, Mama, my sides hurt so bad from trying not to laugh out loud!

Oh - and by the way - I happened to notice that 'you know who' had on that pair of chewable shoes. So I waited until she was on her knees cleaning out my litter tray, then ZIP! I ran in and got several good tugs and nibbles. Not much she could do because she had her hands full of 'you know what'. Ah yes, I am smarter than the average rabbit!

Not much going on tonight. I did eat about half the cover of my book. You know, the one in my cardboard box. I'm sitting here chomping away and suddenly I think, "hey, I could be eating hay". So I make a bee line for my cage. Pretty soon that lady goes into the kitchen and I just know what's coming. Yup, it's the peach. The peach, the peach, Mama! Did I mention it's the peach?

Goodnight, Mama
I love you.

I played hide and seek with my mama this weekend too. She looked all over for me, even under the couch, but she couldn't find me because I hid under some newspaper and was as quiet as a mouse, even when she called my name. Pretty good, huh?

Friday, September 7, 2007

Well, time for another journal entry. I hope people like reading these...

Thursday
August 30, 2007

Yo Mama,
It's me, Dylan, checking in. Got my pellets bright and early this morning. Good thing too, I was starving! I had my furry little bunny face buried in that bowl before it hit the bottom of my cage. With my tummy finally full again, I settled down for a bunny nap.

That lady went to the store again while I slept. You know, Mama, the store you go to, cause the bags say "Kro" - something. She must really eat alot. She had 3 or 4 bags. She said she was taking them home with her. But I'm going to try to stay awake tonight to see if she's eating then too.

Anyway, by 11:30 am I was having free play time in my playpen. So I gophered around for a while under the blanket. Then it was the usual - dig, nap, dig, nap. Then I fell into a deep, deep sleep. It just felt so good to sprawl out.

I was still asleep, under the chair in my playpen, when that lady put my greens in my cage and said something to me. I tell you, Mama, I was awake in a flash and all over that bowl. Then I went out to do a house check.

I spent alot of time in the closet tonight, and under the couch. I was still sleepy, so I did a big yawn and plunked down in front of the slider. SNAP! I came wide awake when that lady put the TV onto a country music channel. I liked it - I loved it - I wanted some more of it! I must be a country bunny at heart. Anyway, I hummed along for awhile, then I just had to move to that music, and did I ever! I ran so fast my paws barely touched the floor.

Well, Mama, I'm just biding my time until the peach arrives. I've nibbled hay, drank water, sprawled out in my litter tray, and now I'm in the living room staring at that lady.

Ok, I'll try a big yawn. Bingo! That worked! Heh heh. She's on her way to the fridge. She fell for it! I'm such a clever bunny.

So, Mama - slurp - we'll talk - slurp, slurp - again tomorrow.

Goodnight dear Mother
I LOVE YOU

My Mama's home!!! She was gone for a long time, but now she's home to pet me and love me. And to help me put my latest journal entries up. Here we go!

Wednesday,
August 29, 2007

Greetings, Mama,
Just like you told me, that lady came today. She said she got her at 3:30pm. I couldn't see the clock, so I had to take her word for it. Geez, she brought enough stuff with her. Looks like she'll be here a day or two.

Anyway, she did let me into my playpen as soon as she got here. So within minutes I was cruising around under the blue blanket. It was so cool. I was pushing around that little cardboard box in my playpen, then I'd turn and scoot the other way. I could tell I was impressing you know who. She kept laughing and saying how smart I was! Ah! Praise! Bring it on!

I got the run of the place when that lady gave me my greens. I was so full of energy I decided to play, play, play before I really got to the greens.

Hey, I just remembered something about this lady - the SHOES! Damn it (I mean gosh darn it!) I know she had the chewy ones on when she came but now she doesn't. I've checked twice and gnawed a bit, but nope, they're hard ol' sneakers. Shucks!

The lady changed my litter box while I was chewing and ripping cardboard over by the fridge. When I went to check out her job, I realized - my GREENS! So I really chowed down - a little impolitely I may add - because that lady told me she could hear my chewing. The nerve!

That lady told me my Grandma was coming to visit on Saturday. Geez, I'm going to have my paws full with both of them. But you know me, Mama - I can handle whatever comes my way.

Oh, by the way, Mama. Did you know I can jump up on top of the boxes beside the fridge? I never should have tried it while that lady was sitting at the table and saw me. Otherwise we could have had quite the game of hide and seek! Anyway, when she did come over and find me, I jumped down, dusted off my paws, and sauntered away. Guess I showed her a thing or two!

I did some mighty big yawns and stretches, so that lady cut me a slice of a peach. You know what that did to me, Mama. ZOOM! I was in my cage in a flash!

Well, I am a tired bunny - with a full tummy!

Night-night, Mama.
I LOVE YOU!

Saturday, August 25, 2007

All is going to be quiet here for awhile, since my mama is leaving me for a few days. I'll have a bunnysitter though, so you don't need to worry about me. Maybe my auntie will forget a few things, so I can get into the rooms I'm not allowed in or can get my paws on a remote control. I just love those buttons. YUM!

Friday evening book club

I'm a bit disappointed the polls weren't working this week. Since no one was able to vote on "What type of book should I devour next", I picked an answer myself. I think the answers were A) fiction, B) nonfiction, C) reference, or D) all of the above. And my answer is...

Vacation journal, part 3

Wednesday
July 4, 2007

Hiya Mama,
Dylan here. Got my pellets bright and early this morning. Then the lady let me out into my playpen. I was so happy – I ran and hopped high in the air right there inside the playpen. I also tried gnawing on the fence to open it up, but that didn’t work.
So – you won’t guess what I’ve spent the morning doing. I’ve been digging, Mama. I take a breather now and then, but not for long.
I spent hours digging, napping, digging, napping.
The lady gave me my greens at 6:00pm and I ate them up without stopping. Then I started nibbling on hay when – shazam! I saw my gate was opened.
So I hopped out and of course the first place I go is to check the bathroom door – rats! It’s shut tight. So then – bingo! – I remember the spot between the fridge and the wall. But wait – oh no – someone has totally blocked the spot. The lid to my hay container is there with a chair pushed up against it. Well, I tell you Mama, I sat and glared at it for a long time, but couldn’t make that blockade disappear. So then I tried to eat a chair leg to get it out of the way, but dammit (sorry, Mama – I mean dang it) that didn’t work either.
Next I hopped on the beanbag. I thought I was quiet, but just as I was thinking of jumping onto your desk, the lady turned around, so I jumped down, before she could even say anything.
So back to the kitchen. I need to sit and think up a plan. Geez, she even piled stuff on the chair so I can’t hop on it, either.
Now, I’m frustrated so it’s back to check the bathroom door = then neato! I can make it to your desk if I go between the slider and the blinds.
Time for a power nap, then groom, groom, groom. Hey, she’s cleaning my cage – fresh hay, fresh water – so I’ll add some fresh you know what!
I got in lots of running and high kicks and leaps. I really gave the lady a great air show!
Now, I’m quietly eating hay and awaiting a sweet, juicy berry.
I’ll see you tomorrow. Gosh, that sounds good! You’re the best Mama, Mama!

Goodnight sweet Mama –
I LOVE YOU

Top ‘o the Mornin, Mama –

My mama’s comin’ home today
Home today, home today
My mama’s coming home today
And that makes Dylan hap-py!

Do you like my little tune? I hummed it while I ate breakfast.
Did you have trouble pushing Grandma into her car carrier? Does she sleep in her litter box like I sometimes do? That’d be cool if she did.
The lady left my newspapers scattered around right where I put them, so you could see what a busy bunny I’ve been.
As usual this morning, I’m digging a lot and napping a little. I’m trying to dig to the center of the earth. I think I ate that in a book one day.
I’m listening for the phone to ring today, because the lady said that would be a call from my Mama.
You know, if I could make a sign for you it would say:
WORLD’S BEST MAMA – WELCOME HOME!
Ok, that lady said the phone call I just heard was from you. That means you’re getting closer. So, I’m going to sleep the afternoon away – then the time will go quicker.
I can’t wait to play with you all day tomorrow, Mama. We’ll have a lot of fun just chilling out here – no where to go, nothing to do.
So, I’m going to sign off now, Mama. See ya later, alligator (heh heh – I made that up).
Loads of love, Mama
Your Bunny Boy, Dylan

So, what did you think of my journal? Stayed tuned here, because in a couple of weeks, my mama is going someplace called “Chicago” and that lady is going to come stay with me again and be my scribe.

Vacation journal - Part 2

Here's part two of my vacation journal. I'll get the last part up soon, unless I take on another renovation project...

Monday
July 2, 2007

Hey Mama,
Well, another day, another dollar so they say. I don't know what it means, but I bet you do cause you're super smart!
I got my breakfast pellets at 7:15am this morning. I ate a couple of bites than flung my bowl - man! you should have seen that thing go! Funny thing was, most of my pellets ended up on one of the little blankets in the bottom of my cage. So, I felt like I was dining on a tablecloth at breakfast.
The lady left about 9:30am and came back around 11:00am. So, she let me out into my playpen where I - yes, you guessed it - have been digging for oil ever since.
By the way, Mama, before I went to bed last night, I noticed a rather handsome fellow at the slider looking in at me. Although he did seem to have his good points, I know he would never appeal to you the way I do.

Hi, Mama - I just woke up form a power nap. I dug and scratched for a couple of hours, then fell asleep about 3pm. I didn't even hear the lady get her supper - I was out! She gave me my bowl of greens - I ate half of them - then tipped over teh bowl. Thought maybe it would get her mad - but tarnation! it didn't even rile her up. Anyway, I knew tonight that while I was eating my greens my gate would be open - and - hot damn! (sorry, Mama, I meant darn) it was and I was through it like a flash. I always run to the bathroom door first - and go figure! - it's always shut. I did just lightly nibble on a book on your bookshelf - but you guessed it - busted! And it was red - my favorite color. After my cage got cleaned up, (and I don't understand why you women have the urge to tidy up) I went in to enjoy some fresh, lipsmackingly good hay. I had fun tonight pushing the wastebasket away from the wall so I could sit behind it.
So, now I've had my berry and I'm eating hay again. It's a half hour early, but I think I was just being a curious, rascally rabbit. I didn't know I wasn't supposed to chew on the wood on the wall behind my cage or dig at the carpet there. I found out if I leaped into my toybox first then I could shimmy along the wall and come out by the front closet door - cool huh? And did you know if I gave a good jump between the fridge and the wall I could land way back in there, on top of the rug, broom and bags?! Oh well, tomorrow's another day - heh, heh, heh.
Goodnight, Mama -
I LOVE YOU

PS
How's your trip, Mama? I can't wait to hear about it. Have you let Grandma out of her carrier yet? Does she use a litter box as good as I do? I'm still your little angel bunny.

Tuesday
July 3, 2007

Hello Mummy,
I heard that on TV - pretty neat, huh?
So, what are you and Grandma up to today? Did you take a car load of hay with you, or are you buying some along the way?
Had my pellets this morning. I ate part of them until I turned my food bowl into a frisbee. Man, can that thing fly! I really gave it a workout. Good thing it's unbreakable - 'cause it took some good hits!
That lady let me out into my playpen around 10 this morning. I spent over an hour digging - but I kept coming to the edge of the playpen by my cage to show her how cute I am - thought maybe I'd get the run of the place early, but it didn't work. She'd just talk to me and tell me what a cute bunny I was - like geez, Mama, I KNOW that!
Boy, you sure picked out a good bag of hay - it's like I can't get enough of that stuff! Besides, I know you love my round bunny belly, so I kept eating.
Ah - there's no place like a used litter box to stretch out in and take a catnap (er - I mean bunny nap.)
I ate almost half my greens at supper before I decided to go out and play. I decided I would do some of your work for you, so I am shredding the papers under the couch - easier to recycle.
The lady was standing at the kitchen sink doing dishes when I ran over her feet - screech - stop - she had on those slip on shoes with the chewy ties on them. I was persistent, Mama, I was not a quitter. She finally went and changed her shoes - Shucks!
Hey, wait, I just realized something - why am I shredding and nibbling paper when I still have greens in my bowl? Time out from recycling...
No, Mama, just so you know - that toy animal on the couch - I say hi to him every day when I have free play - but he doesn't talk much. And he just sits there - man - I would be so bored. I rub my chin on his feet everyday - just staking out my territory.
You know, Mama, even though I haven't said this everyday, I do miss you. I'll be so happy when you're reading this, because then you'll be home. The lady is ok, but nobody can take care of you as good as your own Mama, Mama.
I like to sit in the box that was on top of my cage when I was in my playpen.
While the lady put clean blankets in my cage, I ran and ran.
I'd really like to see what's behind those shelves you have propped up against your desk, but when I pushed one over against the chair, I still couldn't get in there - drat it!
My cage is all tidied up. I went in the front closet and laid on your shoes while she finished it up. Now I'm sprawled out on the floor in front of the book shelves by the TV. I'm watching to see when a big load of hay goes into my cage. Then I'll be in there quick as a bunny - ha, ha! get it? A bunny being quick as a bunny? Well, maybe you had to be there.
Ok, ok, the phone call to you is over and that lady is a real snitch! Mama - I was just testing her to see if she could talk on the phone and watch me at the same time. So, I guess she showed me she could do two things at once. But it was so much fun while it lasted!
I'll see you in a couple of days. I'm still your little honey bunny.
Night, Mama-
I LOVE YOU

Vacation Journal - Part 1

Well, I mentioned I kept a journal awhile ago, and here's the first couple days of it.

Saturday
June 30, 2007

Hi Mama,
Are you having a good trip? Did you put my grandma in a car carrier like you do me when you and I go on a trip? Does her carrier look just like mine? I wouldn't care if she rode in it. Mine, I mean.
The lady who is staying here is writing this for me. She said I could do the talking and she'd put it on paper. She also said she wouldn't listen if I said something bad about her.
The lady who is here seems harmless - but Mama!, she's so, so - how do I put this politely? - she's so much older than you! I have to admit it surprised the hell (oops, sorry, Mama) heck out of me when she stepped over my playpen fence without unhooking it. She even got back out the same way. I was worried there for a minute, I might have to catapult (er, I mean gently nudge) her over the top.
I took not one - but two - long naps this afternoon. I spent the time in between trying to dig that darned sheet off the floor - no luck yet!
The reason I took 2 naps was that lady told me we could watch the PBR tonight. I thought that meant Peter Bunny Rabbit - but she said no, it was a bullriding show and that I would have a rip snorting good time - yee haw!
The lady seems able to read the information you left her. I had a bowl of greens for supper (yum) which I promptly sat down and consumed with hardly taking a breath. I didn't know if she would try to eat some - and I was prepared to fight her for them - but she didn't bother me.
Ha Ha! She opened my playpen about 5:45 (right after I inhaled my greens) but for about 30 minutes I appeared not to be interested in coming out. Instead, I hopped into my tent under the chair and spent the time grooming myself. Then about 6:15 I suddenly thought - what they hey! - I'm wasting free time! so I hopped out and zoomed off. I practiced my leaps in the air and boy, did I get some good hang time! I'll show you when you get home, Mama.
About 9:00 I was pooped, so I plunked myself down in my litter tray for a quick rest. She gave me a juicy fat strawberry (I didn't waste any of it) and then I went to sleep.
Missed the bullriding - maybe tomorrow night.
G'night, Mama -
I love you

Mornin' Mama,
It's me, Dylan. I scarfed down my pellets this morning about 7:30am. I didn't lose a single one. Then I tossed the empty bowl in my litter tray.
I snoozed while the lady went to the store. She shops the same place you do, Mama. Her bags said "Kroger" - just like yours. Guess she might know a thing or two after all.
Then she let me in my playpen when she got back and I'm back to trying to dig my way to China.
Oh, Mama, I forgot to tell you - I was just a little mad when I was out of my playpen yesterday. I thought the note you left the lady was just about my food, but it must have also said to shut the bathroom and bedroom doors. Rats! I was planning to have a little fun in those rooms since you weren't here. But you must have told her to keep those doors shut. Shoot! Oh well. I'll switch to Plan B (as soon as I think of it).
Just to let you know, that lady always says how good my hay smells. You may need to check her bag before she leaves. I haven't seen her take any, but you never know...

I tried digging a tunnel almost all afternoon - so didn't start my bunny nap until late. That lady woke me up when she put my greens in my bowl. But I rose to the occasion and devoured every single nibble - then ate hay until I fell asleep again.
She finally roused me awake when she took my water bottle to fill it. By then I realized with a start that my gate had been opened since the greens were put on the table and I'd missed over an hour of free play. So I explored while she cleaned my litter tray and did whatever it is you women do to tidy up the bedroom. Then I just knew she was going to try to brush me - so ha ha! jokes on her - I ran into my cage and sat in the litter box eating hay. I hope she doesn't try to come in after me! Darn! She doesn't have on those slip on chewing shoes today either. Maybe tomorrow she'll forget and wear them - then I can casually come up to them and - oh well- you know the rest...
So-I fianlly decided to come out and play - after all, I'm no dumb bunny - when that gate's opened - it's all systems "Go".
Anyway after she cleaned my pen I just had to go in there for awhile - there's nothing like a fresh litter box to - you know - give you "the urge".
I did let her brush me some, but when the brush got filled up and she had to clean it off - I was off too!
Well, time for bed.
Night-night, Mama,
I love you

PS
I heard her tell you about the couch scratching "incident". I was just testing her to see if I could get away with it. Guess she was paying attention when I thought she wasn't. Must've been a teacher - or something.

Home, Sweet Home

Well, I've been in my new home for three months now. That's a long time! And I love my home so much better than my last one and better than the shelter, too. I get plenty of food, lots of toys of my very own, hours of bounce time, and lots of attention. If only I had an unlimited supply of bananas and the run of the place 24/7, this place would be perfect.

Here's a picture of me playing on top of my house:

Introducing..., me

Hi, I'm Dylan, the cutest bunny that ever bunnied, so I've been told. I kept a journal while my person was away on vacation, and everyone liked it so much that I decided to make this online journal. I'll put my other journal up here too, but it might take awhile, because it's really hard to type when you don't have fingers.

In the meantime, here's a little about me. I heard this song on a movie, and this is my version...

Bananas at bedtime and strawberry treats
Peaches and apples and anything else that's sweet
Let's not forget the dandelion greens
These are a few of my favorite things

Newpaper that rips and that tastes so good
Big boxes filled with a few toys and some wood
Little toy balls with little bells that ring
These are a few of my favorite things

Chewing on shelves full of volumes galore
Doorframes and baseboards and cabinet doors
Digging the carpet into little strings
These are a few of my favorite things

When the door slams
When the cage shuts
Because I've been bad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don't feel so sad
